The Black Mage V2 brings more bass and a bit more fun, but retains the clear midrange and “Present but Pleasant” top end of the original Black Mage. Less a monitor and more a music lover’s headphone, this new version delivers a pleasing, neutral midrange and treble with deep, impactful bass that doesn’t muddy things up. Still affordably priced at $285. If you’ve always been intrigued by the unique bass presentation of the DT770 but want a more euphonic headphone experience, the Black Mage might be just what you’re looking for!
